First time patient, long time user; I finally managed to get it together during the pandemic and get my medical card. The ONLY bad thing I could say about Maitri is that their parking is about a lot down from their actual entrance but it's not a big deal at all. At least they've got some! AND Maitri is the only dispensary in Pittsburgh that is owned and operated by a woman! Every single person I encountered as part of the staff was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. This is a brief breakdown of what to expect during your first visit: ▪️The security guard downstairs will greet you when you walk in the door and ask to see your state issued identification (driver's license or ID) and also your Pennsylvania medical marijuana patient card. You should then inform them that you are a new patient because you will have to fill out a few short intake forms that ask stuff like what your prescribing diagnosis is and what kind of outcome you're hoping to achieve with medical marijuana. During my visit, because there were already so many people waiting upstairs in the lobby he directed me to fill out the forms in their downstairs waiting room. This may or may not be your experience but personally, I liked being alone to fill out the forms in private. You can also visit their website and download and print the forms so that you can be ready for your first visit and you can also register online with them to create an account that will allow you to place orders online for quick pickup (*you will still have to fill out the new patient forms regardless). ▪️After you have finished filling out the forms, you can go upstairs to the main lobby where someone at the desk will make copies of both your IDs and will take your completed paperwork. If you already browsed the menu online, you can ask for your order to be placed at this time so that once you are called back to the product room, your wait to pay will be short. ▪️Once your IDs are returned, you will either be asked to wait in the lobby to go to the product room or you will be escorted in there if there are no other people ahead of you at that time. ▪️Inside the product room are all of the available medical marijuana products Maitri has to offer, as well as some fun and interesting reading and an ATM; Maitri only accepts cash as payment OR you can register with the CanPay app online and use your phone at the desk to pay directly from a linked bank account. ▪️If you have already placed your order, you will wait for your name to be called and when it is, you proceed to the front desk person who has your order and they will ask for your identification once more. If you have not yet placed your order, you will proceed to the desk and ask the associate to prepare your order then. ▪️Payment is completed using either cash or the CanPay app and your products are packaged into the little black Maitri bags and stapled shut. Labels with your name and all of the product information have been affixed to the packaging of all your products. ▪️After you have paid for your order, you exit the product room at either the exit nearest the front desk or the door you originally entered from. And that's it! It was truly a painless, fun, and exciting process, as someone who has waited many years to purchase legal marijuana products. The staff were all very engaging and did their best to make my experience as quick and easy as possible. And they have posted deals on their website every Monday so check often and save what $ you can!

This is the best dispensary in Pittsburgh. The service is fast, the staff is awesome and super nice as well. Ramona, who helps with the questions and orders over the phone, is one of the nicest ladies you'd ever talk to over the phone, and Cody who works the counter is super helpful and help you with all your questions... A++

Not therapy dog friendly! Welcomed my dogs at first but then they made me leave during a driving rainstorm “because of the dogs”. And yes the dogs barked once during the visit but they were calm and well behaved when we were sent out into the storm. My dogs have been welcome at the VA Medical Center for almost ten years. The only time they bark is when they are threatened or startled. "The comfort of all of our patients is our priority". Don't believe them. Their response shows a LACK OF COMPASSION. The sensible response would have been, "OMG, sorry for sending you guys out into that thunderstorm!" Not happy.

The staff are very welcoming and friendly! It was a seamless process from placing my reservation online to coming in as a first-timer. Just make sure you have your intake patient paperwork ready to save time. There's free off-street parking which is super convenient in East Liberty.
