Marijuana company launches effort to crack down on unlicensed establishments
Green Peaks Innovations' Steve Pitsillos, chief marketing officer, explains the launch of a campaign called
WINDSOR TOWNSHIP -- Leaders of a medical marijuana company that plans to create at least 1,000 jobs in Michigan are furious over the state's rollout of its licensing program.

So furious they are starting a 30-day campaign on Wednesday that will encourage the state to shut down unlicensed marijuana establishments and follow through with rules they initially made, rather than wait for a judge to issue a ruling on their fate.

Michigan Court of Claims Judge Stephen Borrello recently issued a temporary restraining order that blocked enforcement of the state's March 31 deadline for unlicensed facilities to stay open.
Jeff Radway, the CEO of Green Peak Innovations, said allowing unlicensed businesses to remain open is dangerous. "It's resulted in unsafe, untested and, quite frankly, illegal products, said Jeff Radway, CEO of the Windsor Township-based Green Peak Innovations.
State officials, including those with the state Department of Licensing and Regulatory affairs, have declined to comment on the matter because of pending litigation, said David Harns, a LARA spokesman.
Radway said GPI, a state-licensed company, hasn't been able to sell the marijuana it's grown since January because licensed marijuana establishments have found it easier and cheaper to buy pot from caregivers who don't need commercial growing licenses.

The Michigan Supreme court ruled unanimously on Monday that a passenger in a car may challenge a police search of his personal property found in the vehicle. And it overruled its 2007 decision in People v. LaBelle that barred passengers from challenging a search of a car in which they were traveling.
In this week's decision, People v. Mead, the Court wrote, "To invoke the Fourth Amendment's protections, a defendant must first establish that he had a legitimate expectation of privacy in the area searched. Moreover, the expectation of privacy must be one that society is prepared to recognize as reasonable." The Court ruled that normally a passenger does not have a legitimate expectation of privacy in someone else's car. But the Court found in this case that the passenger, Larry Mead, did have a legitimate expectation of privacy in a backpack that the evidence demonstrated belonged to him.

The Court wrote, "A passenger's personal property is not subsumed by the vehicle that carries it for Fourth Amendment purposes. A person can get in a car without leaving his Fourth Amendment rights at the curb." According to the Court's opinion, Mead was a passenger in a vehicle that the police pulled over for an expired license plate. The officer observed Mead clutching a backpack on his lap in the passenger seat. Both Mead and the driver independently told the officer they had just met, and she was giving him a ride. The officer obtained the driver's consent to search her person and the car. The officer then asked Mead to get out of the car. Mead left his backpack on the passenger floorboard as he exited. The officer then searched the passenger side of the vehicle, including the backpack, and found methamphetamines, other drugs, and drug paraphinalia. Mead was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine. The officer testified that he believed the backpack belonged to Mead, but that he did not ask for his consent to its search.

We as a state are moving towards all products fully tested #nopoison. You may remember when we tested every product prior to sale. We rely on LARA to bring the system in BUT itโ€™s not yet a requirement. We are going to be moving towards full panel lab tests on all non licensed this space in the next 7-10 days #gotcleanmeds

The absolute nicest group of people you will ever meet. They go out of their way to make sure you're taken care of. If you need your medical card go see them they'll set you up at the doctor. And then give you a bunch of free stuff for going to see their doctor. Greatest deal going in meds today !!

I changed my mind about this place! originally my post was very rude! I said that it was ghetto.. I did have a bad experience there my first time !and I was quick to judge..everybody knows what I mean by "ghetto" ( if you don't get a dictionary) (I mean the first time I went to the place I watched a man carry a child out the door with him) ( the little boy was maybe 2 or 3 years old) that was part of why I wrote the bad review..... anyways I believe the owner was the one that helped me out tonight! I decided to give Liberty meds a second try due to the fact that they carry every cartridge out there... and they're the only establishment in Flint that's consistent...second time around was much better than the first time ..they had things a lot more under control it was much cleaner they had hired different staff members and the experience today was much better than my first time around.. the owner responded to my rude review that I posted the first time and I take back what I said this place is clean has good bud and every cartridge you could possibly want and the people were very very nice!... My apologies to the owner and the workers! I hope that they accept my apology! Kudos to making your establishment better!

Getting to populated they all are besides a few new ones little disjointed. Will take care of customer I'm proud to see only issue they forget their people who have been helping them build the name. Since day one they should make a partnership with school to teach had a Lara teacher come in one time an confirmed why you should change place you go. To compassionate of a store now I feel about sales you be I remember you you helped me built this I'll look out for you hope did change owners.

I think it may be nice to have someone in there during busy hours that is just dedicated to people that know what they came in for. It's a little frustrating sometimes to wait while people ask a lot of questions when you are just popping in for a few pre rolls. May keep the flow moving. Do love the products I've purchased thus far though.

What is a Cannabis Dispensary?

A cannabis dispensary is a retail store which sells cannabis products and accessories. Since the early 1990's, cannabis dispensaries have existed in the United States. The first dispensary was opened in California, and since then, the nation has been progressing towards cannabis reform. Now, there are thousands of cannabis dispensaries, and more on the way as laws in the United States change towards legalizing medical and recreational cannabis.

Most dispensaries carry a variety of different kinds of flowers and buds. The flowers will range from sativa to hybrids of all sorts to indicas, and depending on state, test results letting you know the percentages of THC, cannabinoids and terpenoids as well as ensuring the quality of the flowers. In addition, dispensaries carry a variety of other cannabis products such as prefilled vape cartridges, concentrates such as waxes and oils, as well as a multitude of other cannabis products like lotions and tinctures.
